This was a wonderful place to stop! The interior alone is a good reason to come in here with all of the vintage Route 66 theming and decorations, especially on the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road. This was our first time in a Portillo's and we didn't know what to expect. I had the Italian Beef and my wife had a burger. We both loved our food! My only complaint was that the Italian beef got a little soggy. You have the option to order it with extra gravy, and I think anyone who does that wants to eat soup. The service was great. I feel bad for the workers having to recite rhymes every time they call out order numbers, but I felt it added to the experience. If you end up in the Springfield area and are looking for somewhere casual, fun, and tasty to try, I recommend stopping in here.

Stopped here enroute home to Kansas. Portillo's is a must stop when we find one during our travels as we have none in Kansas. I had the Maxwell Street Polish on French Bread while my wife had the whitefish sandwich on a brioche bun. We split an order of onion rings. It was shortly after 1 pm on a Saturday and we had no problems finding an open table. I like the large order is ready screen. Easy to read. The restaurant is kept clean.

Really disappointed today, was craving the Chicago style hot dog and it was great! My hubby had the beef Italian sausage combo sandwich and he gave it 5 stars, but those burgers!! One star is too much. The fries were so overcooked and cold.

I ordered two Italian beefs, a beef and cheddar croissant (which unfortunately did not include cheddar at all and they added a pepper that I did not order), two cheese fries both were COLD, and a candy cane shake. The shake was extremely thick and undrinkable as served, and the straw wasn’t provided with my drink, so I had to request one. I also had to go home and add milk and blend the shake to make it remotely possible to drink, which was disappointing. I have visited other Portillo’s locations in Chicago (which were great and very tasty!) without issues, so this was unexpected. On a positive note, the customer service was good—staff quickly and without hesitation addressed my requests, including the missing cheese sauce, and the order was prepared quickly. Overall, the team was attentive and responsive

First time trying the Legendary Portillos. They did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the strawberry lemon shake was on point. My partner loved the Italian beef and sausage and cheese fries. The service was great and the staff were very friendly and patient to someone new. Would highly recommend visiting this location.
